Salsa Fargo, Large frameset built up with a mix of parts just right for an ATB verging on gravel.

The limitation,of you can call it that, of the Fargo frameset is that it’s designed for big tyres. That’s great but it does limit the gearing choices. With a single ring the max is 36t. You can bypass this and get a little wider range by using a Rohloff Speedhub. We’ve done that here and as this bike isn’t destined for anything super remote we’ve also fitted a Gates Belt Drive. We also supplied a spar belt, just in case…

An already relaxed riding position is taken a little further with Jones Loop H Bars and some small ‘aero’ bars for a change of tempo.

lighting and charging is taken care of by the Sinewave Beacon, SON Dynamo hub and rear light on the seatstay. Such a small, neat and reliable package.

as the first trip for this bike is a mere 1350k back across Europe some comfort will be provided by the Brooks Cambium, Ergonomic biokork grips and the CaneCreek eeSilk seatpost.

29 x 2.0 Maxxis Ramblers set up with Stans tubeless on Halo Vapour rims, these will go up to a 2.25” if needed in the future.

a first ride to envy…
