Here’s the first of our Otso’s we have out of the door. We’re bringing these in one by one and they’ll all be custom build ups.
It’s a absolute hit list of components ready for plenty of adventures near and far.
The frameset is designed from the ground up for bikepacking. It comes complete with a Wolftooth headset and spacers/finishing bolts.
We added an Enduro bottom bracket to run the 5Dev CX titanium cranks running a Wolftooth oval 34t chainring
These will run a suspension fork if desired and this one might in the future. With that in mind we fitted a post mount fork and brake caliper to make swapping easier down the line. This may seem odd but some, though not all, SRAM mtb post mount calipers are compatible with drop bar shifter / brake assemblies. No internal cable routing on these forks. 12s SRAM mechanical shifting for simplicity, no batteries to charge.
2026 brought the new Exposure Revo5 headlight for long adventures on and off road. For phone and gps device charging with adequate lighting for the trail ahead.
This is run from the SON dynamo in the front wheel, DT Swiss 240 rear wheel and built up onto XM481, chosen for their light weight, XC classification. Vittoria Mezcal 29*2.4 tyres set up with Stans seal and of course.
Comfort is taken care of by those fat tyres, a RedShift Pro suspension seatpost and Redshift bar Cruise Control grips under the Teravail Radia bar tape. No ever DNF’d because they were too comfy…
There will be a Suspension stem fitted once the fit is dialled.
The Old Man Mountain Elkhorn rack could have been fitted to a thru axle but all the mounts are on the frame so who wants to remove a rack and axle combo every time the rear whole needs to be removed?
It’s a great start to fitting the bike out with luggage for trips. It’s best to take this journey slowly to get it right.
